What powered this story
The story
From one stage to six at London Tech Week
Mantis produces the captioning experience at London Tech Week. After a successful 2025 pilot on the main stage, 2026 expanded coverage across the event.
The challenge
Six simultaneous caption feeds across stages with different production setups, several of them not publicly streamed at all. Captions had to look like part of the show, match event branding, and stay accurate on dense technical content.
The solution
Mantis sent audio-only feeds per stage into SyncWords and monitored every service from one location. The Caption Widget was styled with CSS to match the event's brand, with captions that fade out between sessions. A curated dictionary of 100 to 150 speaker names and technical terms tuned recognition before the event.
The result
Live captions across the main stage and five exhibition stages for three days. Pre-event testing brought end-to-end caption latency from around five seconds down to roughly three and a half.
