Live AI captioning

Automatic captions generated in real time, with translated subtitles alongside. Embedded EIA-608 covers the seven languages the standard supports, including English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian.

Bring your own captioner

Prefer a professional captioner for marquee streams? Bring your own: caption ingest from standard steno software runs over a direct EIA-608 Control-A connection.

Translated on the fly

Add real-time AI subtitles in seconds without changing your workflow, so a Vimeo live event can reach viewers beyond its home language.

Any RTMP(S) encoder

OBS Studio, Wirecast, vMix, Streamlabs, XSplit, Teradek, Restream, StreamYard and more. If it speaks RTMP(S), it works.

Custom ASR dictionaries

Load specialized terminology, acronyms and proper names to lift accuracy on your programming. Keep as many dictionaries as you need.

Concurrent streams

Fully cloud-based, so you can run many concurrent livestreams at once.

AI dubbing

Live AI dubbing for Vimeo

Captions reach the audience that reads. Dubbing reaches the audience that listens. Vocalics, the SyncWords AI dubbing offering, dubs live news, sports and narrated programming in real time.

Explore Live AI Dubbing

Dub into 86 languages

Natural-sounding AI dubbing in real time across 86 languages, with 900+ voices and regional accent options.

The speaker stays themselves

Voice transfer carries the original speaker's tone, pacing and emotion in real time across 38 languages. Preset voices and voice casting cover the rest.

One stream per language

Vimeo carries one audio track per livestream, so each dubbed language comes back as its own ready-to-publish stream. Closed captions and subtitles are included with every dub.

Beyond embedded captions

Fits your Vimeo workflow, and the rest of your stack

Vimeo is one destination. The same live pipeline adds captions, subtitles and AI audio translation across your other protocols too.

HLS

Insert real-time captions, subtitles and AI audio tracks straight into an HLS livestream, on any device or screen.

SRT

Add real-time captions to Secure Reliable Transport streams from virtual studios and remote productions.

AWS Elemental

Already on AWS Elemental? SyncWords slots into MediaLive and MediaPackage to keep your livestreams accessible around the clock.

Automate every stream

Create, schedule, update and monitor caption events programmatically. Automate captions for every RTMP(S) stream from your own stack.

Non-destructive delivery

Caption and subtitle tracks are added alongside your video, so your original stream is untouched.

Helps meet accessibility goals

Captions make live content easier to follow and help you meet your accessibility obligations for Vimeo events.

Vimeo live captioning FAQ

Does this work with my existing Vimeo streaming setup?
Yes. You keep your current encoder and simply point its RTMP(S) output at SyncWords, which captions or translates the stream in real time and passes it onto Vimeo. There is no change to how you produce the event.
What languages can I caption and translate into?
Live captions can start from 90 input languages and be translated into 163 subtitle languages. On-screen embedded EIA-608 captions use a Latin-based character set, covering languages such as English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian.
Can I use human (CART) captioners instead of AI?
Yes , bring your own captioner. SyncWords ingests captions from standard steno software over a direct EIA-608 Control-A connection. Live sessions are pre-scheduled.
Do I need a hardware caption encoder?
No. The platform is fully cloud-based, which removes the cost of hardware caption encoders and lets you run many concurrent streams.
Can we add AI dubbed audio to a Vimeo livestream?
Yes. Vocalics dubs live news, sports and narrated programming into 86 languages in real time, with voice transfer carrying the speaker's tone, pacing and emotion across 38 of them. Each dubbed language is delivered as its own stream you publish to Vimeo alongside the original.
