No. SyncWords delivers EIA-608 captions from the cloud, with no hardware encoder and no human captioner required.

Which transport protocols are supported?

SRT, HLS, RTMP(S) and CMAF Ingest, with captions inserted without re-encoding your video.

How does it fit an AWS pipeline?

Natively. It works with AWS Elemental MediaConnect, MediaLive and MediaPackage, plus CloudFront. We’re also on AWS Marketplace.

What about reliability on 24/7 linear?

How much latency does it add?

In SRT workflows, caption delay is under 2 seconds and the video path itself adds a half-second latency. In HLS workflows, viewers typically see captions about 5 seconds behind the program audio.
